Buyer's Guide
The Dyson DC23 Turbinehead is best suited for homes with mostly bare floors, area rugs, or low pile carpet. The canister style is designed to follow you from room to room as you clean. One of the best features of this unit and all Dyson vacuums is the bagless design; simply empty the dust bin with the touch of a button and forget about buying replacement bags.
Choosing A Dyson Canister Vacuum
When picking out a Dyson canister, you will have to choose between three series: DC23, DC26, and DC39. Within each series, the models are the same except for the color and extra attachments. e.g. The DC39 Animal and DC39 Multi Floor have the same features and attachments, but only the DC39 Animal comes with the mini turbine brush.
The DC23 series has a standard layout. The two large wheels and single caster wheel provide a stable platform for the main canister. While not as maneuverable as the Ball Wheel System, the three wheels on the DC23 feel more solid and it handles like a standard cansiter vacuum.
The DC26 is the lightweight/compact Dyson canister. In order to get the vacuum down to 8 lbs., the DC26 needed to cut back on features such as motor size and dust capacity. The DC23 is the lightest and most compact of the Dyson Canisters. It is perfect for smaller homes and apartments where there is little space to store a vacuum.
The DC39 is Dyson's Ball Wheel canister vacuum. It is more maneuverable and easier to turn than the DC23. Despite having a smaller motor than the DC23, a redesigned air path allows the DC39 to have more suction.
